I'm so bad at doing a Friday Feast on time!

Appetizer
What is your usual bedtime? Do you like that, or would you rather it be different?

My bedtime was getting a bit wacky a few weeks ago, but I've gotten back on track to fall asleep around 11 pm.

Soup
When it comes to advice, do you give more or receive more?

I only give advice to good friends, so I think it's an even flow between.

Salad
Describe a memorable meal you've had.

Dan and I ate at the Top of the World Restaurant at the Stratosphere in Las Vegas on our honeymoon. We were 800 feet off the ground in a revolving restaurant with all glass walls seated in a booth on the second tier overlooking the restaurant and all the glorious views. The food was fabulous. We got the Three Course Dinner for Two which included a palate cleanser of cantaloupe sorbet in a frozen lemon rind shell. Such a random detail to remember, but the sorbet was that good! Also, I ate fingerling potatoes for the first time. I had always refused to eat them before because, well, THEY LOOK LIKE FINGERS. They are still freaky, but man, are they delicious! We also got the wine flight, so we had a different glass of wine with each course. To top the whole meal off, we timed our reservation perfectly so we could watch the sun set over the desert and watch the strip light up. It was easily the most money we've ever spent on a meal, but it was completely worth it.

Main Course
Name a work of fiction that affected the way you think about something.

Anna Karenina by Tolstoy made me realize that the Russian classics are neither dull or difficult. That book is a one big soap opera written as a fine novel.

Dessert
What is your favorite type of fruit juice?

Tangerine, of course!

I've got a case of the Mondy Munchies...

Appetizer
What does the color pink make you think of?
My fuzzy pink sweater and Garfy's little pink toe-pads.

Soup
Name something you thought you had lost, but later found.
Monkey - the bestest stuffed animal ever! I lost her somewhere in the move to MA, but my mom found her when she moved. Now she's being held for ransom by my mom in her storage unit until my mom moves into her new house.

Salad
In 3 words, describe this past week.
Bi-polar: So many emotions involved in rejecting a good job for the right reasons.
Windy: This weekend was soooo windy! I was keeping track of Dan's floor mats while he vacuumed his car on Friday, and I thought I could lean into the wind and be held up it was blowing so hard.
Gavin-y: I don't go anywhere. I just wander (That's for my siblings.)

Main Course
What are you obsessed with?
The housing market in Lexington and buying a house in general. I'm currently on my 3rd how to buy a house book.

Dessert
What kind of perfume or cologne do you like to wear?
I like them fruity and subtle.

Where was I?

Ok, for those of you that didn't know, I got offered a job and accepted it.

And for those of you that didn't know, I decided not to take it after all.

The whole thing was a sweet deal except for the hours. With Dan working so early in the day and 10 hours a day, this job would have created a situation where we see each other a half hour each day during the week and then on Saturday. Blah. So I decided to keep looking. I decided to hook up with a temp agency in the meantime. I had my interview this morning and should be working pretty soon. When I got home I was looking around my various job search websites, and found a listing today for a library technician at the UK Education Library. Needless to say, that would be AWESOME.

Nothing much else is going on. We're still busy getting things set up around here to have much fun. Dan working 50 hours a week kind of cuts in on the fun too, but we must keep Garfield in the lifestyle to which he has grown accustomed, and the overtime won't last forever. I think that' s all for now. My brain is rather boring because I need to eat lunch.

oops...Another Saturday Snack

Appetizer
Where on your body do you have a scar, and what caused it?

I have a puncture looking scar on the inside of my right ankle from an IV that was inserted there when I had spinal meningitis as a baby. I have no memories from being sick because I was so young. I never think about the scar. I had to look to see which ankle it was on just a second ago.

Soup
What is something that has happened to you that you would consider a miracle?

Well, I bet everyone considers finding their one true love a miracle. Our story just happens to involve many miles, this here interweb, and the website that shut down 2 weeks after we met on it.

Salad
Name a television personality who really gets on your nerves.

Regis Philbin. That was my sister's answer and it just happens to block out of my mind any other I could give. He's just that annoying.

Main Course
What was a funny word you said as a child (such as "pasketti" for "spaghetti")?

Pampoo for shampoo.

Dessert
Fill in the blank: I have always thought ______ was ______.

I have always though dancing in the kitchen was a magnificent art form.

I am Star Fox?

Dan wanted me to take this quiz to see what video game character I am....because he's a dork like that. I, however, am not dorky enough to know who Star Fox is.

Saturday's....um....Snack?

Oops...I read my sister's Friday's Feast, but never got around to it yesterday.

Appetizer
What sound, other than the normal ringing, would you like your telephone to make?
Right now my phone plays the theme from Chariots of Fire which is rather appropriate because I always seem to be running into the next room to answer it. Other than that, I think I would like church bells.

Soup
Describe your usual disposition in meteorological terms (partly cloudy, sunny, stormy, etc.).
Lately I go back and forth from cloudy with no precipitation to my usual sunny with no clouds.

Salad
What specific subject do you feel you know better than any other subjects?
Food history. Strange, I know.

Main Course
Imagine you were given the ability to remember everything you read for one entire day. Which books/magazines/newspapers would you choose to read?
Oh, that's easy. Foreign language text books. Foreign language just won't stick to my brain.

Dessert
If a popular candy maker contacted you to create their next confection, what would it be like and what would you name it?
I have to go with my sister's answer. It's too cute!

Busterbar, and it would be white chocolate with dark chocolate chips, since he's white with brown spots!

In a New York Minute

One of my best pally-pals landed in NYC just a half hour ago to start her new life. Mon plus cher ami, vous brillerez comme les lumières de Broadway! I'm so proud of my Bowlsie-Bowls!

I was feeling a bit down in the dumps the past couple of days. Laura and Olivia both gave me good pep talks and ideas to feel less in a rut. And then today I got not one but two calls about interviews! Go me! [Spirit Fingers]

I also found a Greyhound rescue group with which I might start to volunteer. They are located in Louisville about an hour and a half away, but they do events in Lexington as well. They have one coming up this Saturday at the Wild Oates near our apartment. I plan on heading over to check them out and get some Greyhound love in the process. I'm also considering some local places around Lexington to start volunteering. It seems like it might be a good way to meet some new people.

Lastly, I want to give a V-day shout out to my pal "good ol' Jer." The best Valentine's date I had until the husband happened to mosey into the number one spot. You could give lessons to straight dudes on how to treat women. If only I could find the pic of you macking on the ladies at our wedding, I would post it here. Alas, everyone's imaginations will just have to suffice :)
